Every car park reservation system makes it possible for employees to book spaces. Such a system in place means they can reserve a parking space before coming to the office. Therefore, employees know in advance if they will be commuting to the office by car or public transport. However, significant details make systems from different producers more or less adapted to various conditions. These details may include access control or mobile payments.

ParkCash

Access control is one of the features which sets the ParkCash car park spaces reservation system apart from other such solutions. Where systems lack access control, employees arriving at the office without having made a reservation can often lead to problems. Imagine a situation where they have car park cards and are able to enter the car park without a prior reservation. ParkCash has found a solution to this problem by using special controllers installed by car park entry barriers. This means that barriers will not open for employees who have not reserved a parking space. Mobile payments for car parking spaces may also be made via the ParkCash application. This also presents an additional source of income for a business generated by employee car park payments.

Tidaro (former Parkanizer)

Tidaro allows its users to reserve car park spaces as well as office desks and conference halls. Interactive car park maps with a facility to reserve spaces are an important feature of this system. Car park usage data shows how employees actually use the available spaces. Employees with permanently assigned car park spaces can make those available to others. The system also has a facility to reserve spaces for guests.

Zonifero

Zonifero addresses all the challenges which employees faces in offices. It is possible to reserve a room, desk or a car park space through this application. Employees can also set their status in the system to remote work, business trip or vacation for example. The platform also has a feature for sending notifications. Zonifero comes with interactive desk maps, making it easier to find a given room, desk or kitchen. Customer requests can be added and managed through a website.

ParkCash may be integrated with both Tidaro and Zonifero. Those platforms do not feature extensive car park modules. ParkCash is a value driver for those systems as it adds a facility for collecting payments for reserving car park spaces. LPR controllers or cameras supplied by ParkCash provide complete control over access to a car park. The ParkCash car park system may be installed in both new-builds as well as older buildings.

Parkalot

The Parkalot system is used at office, university and residential estate car parks. The ability for privileged users (management staff for example) to confirm reservations on the day before is an important feature of this system. Failure to confirm a reservation means the car park space becomes available as part of a pool of shared spaces. It is also noteworthy that a customer may start using Parkalot without the need to contact the company’s sales department. It is not possible to integrate this system with an access control facility.

ParkingShare

The ParkingShare app is available for Android and iOS. ParkingShare is based on a waiting list principle. Once a car park space has been vacated by a user, they are added to the end of the waiting list. Users are sent automatic notifications with available spaces and have to confirm that they are interested, otherwise the notification is sent to others on the waiting list. ParkingShare has a feature for automatic random car park spaces allocations. It is also possible to manage reservations manually. Spaces may be made available through an invitation system. A car park may be configured using a web-based app available to lessees.

Excel + car park cards

Excel together with car park cards may be thought of as the first “car park system”. It requires the name and surname of each person commuting to the office by car to be entered into a spreadsheet. Each and every day. Employees have to have car park cards to be able to open a gate or a barrier. These cards are easily lost. Additionally, employees who are changing jobs have to return them to the admin department. The handover process is time consuming and costly. On top of that there are no car park usage data, there is no feature to manage a car park or collect parking fees. This is an entirely manual method, out of sync with the modern world which is seeing an AI revolution.
